Paper Cutting Workshop: Tradition and Creation in the Pays d’Enhaut
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of paper-cutting, an artistic tradition that has been rooted in the Pays d’Enhaut since the 19th century. This workshop offers an immersive experience in which you will discover the techniques, history and creativity associated with this unique art form.
Program: Introduction and short history
Discover the origins of paper-cutting in the Pays d’Enhaut,
Discover the tools: scissors
Explore the main tool of this art. We’ll look at the precise movements and techniques for handling them comfortably and efficiently.
Creating your own design for symmetrical cutting:
You’ll explore symmetrical decoupage, an emblematic paper-cut technique. This process will enable you to create balanced and harmonious patterns, the signature of this traditional art.
Finishing and presentation
At the end of the workshop, your work will be lightly glued to a sheet of paper for a perfect presentation, ready to be framed according to your taste.
Lunch break: 12h-13h30 Lunch is available at the Café des Bossons next to the Museum, or you can picnic outside, weather permitting.
